I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

MLK was told to not use the "I have a dream" line, but he chose to use it anyways. How would the speech have been different if he didn't use the line

I altered Dr. Kings speech from "America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked 'insufficient funds'. " to "America has given the people a bad check, a check which has come back marked 'insufficient funds'. " I forget my exact thought process however this change was inspired by the undertone at the ends and beginning of pages 1 and 2, receptively, and page 3 specifically and throughout large portions of Dr. Kinds speech where he proposed Negro inequality as hindering the morality all Americans had assumed under the constitution. I truly do love MLK's speech, but I do wonder, why did he reppeat so much? He didn't say the same thing over and over but he said the same IDEA over and over.
