It's been so good to hear from you all. One thing really stands out for me--I miss you all so much. The responses are still coming in regarding what you and your families would like to happen next in Humanities. As soon as I hear from you all, I'll make plans accordingly. In the meantime, let's write.
Today's Assignment Today's assignment is to write a 1/2 to 1 page short story about a moment in time that changed your life forever. Email me your response by 3:00pm Tuesday. Don't worry about spelling or grammar, and this one is just for me to read. Think of this as a "shifty" first draft! You got this. I miss you all. I wish we could all listen to my bad music together!

Welcome!Hello Ospreys!
I miss you all very much. Each and every one of you brighten up my day in innumerable ways--that's become very clear in your absence! For this first week, we're going to take it slow. Plan on checking in here each day for a new assignment. We will use my DP and Google Classroom for the next 3 weeks at the least. If our quarantine party continues beyond April 17, then we will look at some other options to keep things spicy! I'll have more info on how we'll use Google Classroom later this week, so stay tuned. Big Picture 1) Expect to be working about 30 minutes a day at the most on Humanities (Monday-Friday.) 2) If you would like less or more challenge/rigor in our assignments, please email and let me know. It will be especially hard to read your minds from this distance. But, please know that I'm deeply committed to you having a positive experience with Humanities these next several weeks! 3) Stay flexible. Things that are overly rigid break under pressure. Treat yourselves with grace and kindness. I promise to treat you with those things, no matter what. I've got your back! Today's Assignment I haven't had a chance to hear from you all, yet, and before we dive into "online learning" I'd love your input about where we go from here. For today, write me a letter and check in with me. Email me your response to: [email protected] by 3:00pm. 1) How are you and your family? Is there anything I should know to help me better serve you as a teacher these next several weeks? 2) What would you like to get done in Humanities in the next 3 weeks? Would you like to continue our current Technology project or work on something else? Khan Academy style work or something closer to a project? 3) What's something you're thankful for today? What are you doing to help your family out today? I am available for virtual office hours today with this here ZOOM link from 10am-12pm. All the best, Stephen Project Work Time: |
