For each poem identify the following: Basic Info Title: Author: Date Published: Poetic Characteristics 1) The meter. Careful, there might be more than one kind happening. 2) The number of feet per line. 3) The type of rhyme. Poetic Devices 4) Is the poet messing around with the line? If so, how? 5) Is the poet messing around with the meter? If so, how? 6) What descriptive devices is the poet using? Poetic Form 7) Is the poet using a particular poetic form? What is the form? Is it opened or close? Perspective 8) Finally, what is the perspective of the poem? Who is the narrator? What is the poem about? Monday: Intro Poetry Field Guide, Reading/Studying Poems
