Notecard Self-Portrait Write your name and the date; sketch a 2 minute self-portrait. R4P: Reading For Pleasure Drop everything and read...for pleasure. Share Stories Let's try a test run of exhibition and share our stories in class. Are you confident in what you're sharing today? Why or why not? Exhibition Discussion "When students know that the work they are creating in a project will be displayed publicly, this changes the nature of the project from the moment they start working – because they know they will need to literally ‘stand by’ their work, under scrutiny and questioning from family, friends, and total strangers." "An exhibition should be a celebration of student work" What are your ideas we have for how to exhibit this work you have done? We came up with two major thoughts: -We could make a book that includes everyone's stories. -We could perform author reading's for a variety of different audiences--in school or out of school. We'll check back in on this on Monday/Tuesday. A Chance for Revision
If you would like to make revisions to your final draft you can. You can turn this in by the start of class Monday. However, the maximum grade you can earn if you do revisions is an 85. Essentially, you waive your right to earn anything higher than a B+ if you do revisions. If you are happy with your final draft and think you have earned an A, you are welcome to take your chances with the grade I give you. Since this is the first project of the year, I wanted to give you a second chance to make sure you're handing in the kind of work you are really proud of.
