Socratic Seminar Seminar Questions
IF YOU WERE ABSENT FOR SEMINAR... If you were absent for seminar, you need to complete a seminar makeup. To do this, you need to choose 3 of the seminar questions listed above. Answer each question with a fully developed TEA paragraph that uses evidence from the text (set up your quotes!!!) to support your opinions. You will need to complete the seminar reflection, as well. DUE TUESDAY, START OF CLASS. Seminar Reflection Below is a list of Essential Questions for our study of globalization. The questions in bold need to be answered for your seminar reflection. 1) What is globalization? 2) What responsibilities do individuals have to society? 3) What responsibilities do corporations have to society? Whose responsibility is it to fight for those who are being exploited by someone or something more powerful? What version of globalization do you want to see in the future? What factors might motivate you to fight for a cause? What does it mean to be empowered? 4) What version of globalization do you want to see in the future? What are the values that are important to you in deciding this? Homework 1) Type, proofread, and polish your reflection. Please use my formatting guide and title this "Global Village Seminar Reflection." DUE MONDAY, start or class. EMAIL TO ME! NO PAPER COPIES! ----- 2) Review the handout "Attributes of High-Quality Student Work." 3) Check out High Tech High Projects and Buck Institute Projects here for inspiration! Use the filters to reduce the results. 4) Send me an email or a comment below on this BLOG entry with an idea for a Globalization Project that would answer some or all of our essential questions!

We could make a documentary answering all of the essential questions. Each group or pair of students would chose an essential question to answer and then at the end, we would put the whole thing together to create a globalization documentary.

I would love to go around town interviewing the people at Durango's businesses, trying to answer the question "What role do corporations have in society or something like that.

Creating a presentation about a chosen essaintal question with the whole sha bang would be a cool project that would showcraftmanship, complexity and Authenticity.

I think that if we conducted a survey to see how different people view each attribute. we could see how important they view each one.
